Secret Santa

Quick straw poll - do you think this necklace is an OK Secret Santa gift for my colleague?

The rules are £4 maximum spend, and I couldn't find anything for that amount that I thought she would like. So, I went to the bead shop and got some necklace ingredients, and I've just put this together. I'm hoping it will be OK as I know her taste in accessories is for quite simple stuff rather than anything complicated.

The thing I'm nervous about is giving a handmade gift in a Secret Santa, as not everyone might like the handmade vibe... although the good news is that the bits and pieces I used only cost £2.55, so I was planning to spend the remaining £1.45 on some chocolate to go with it; that way she gets something she'll like even if the necklace isn't a hit!

Let me know what you reckon, becasue I could always rethink the whole thing: like giving the necklace to someone else and spending all of the Secret Santa £4 on choccies...

I think that the necklace looks worth much more than four of your finest pounds and it's lovely.

The chocolate will just be a happy bonus!

I think the necklace would be a wonderful Secret Santa.

Yup, I agree! If you wrap it nicely and add the chocolate it will be more than perfect for the swap. Lucy x

This side of the pond would be happy with the necklace and the chocs are a nice extra.

I think that makes a great Secret Santa present - jewellery and chocolate - what more could a girl want?

I think the necklace is great, although I'd eat the choc myself, but then I'm a piggy ;)

Oooh, beads!!!

I'm pretty impressed that you managed to put that necklace together for under 3 pounds. It's a classic look (and the chocs certainly won't hurt).

On other fronts, I finally mailed your package. Umm, yesterday. Really, I'm usually not so unreliable... I'm going to go hide under the bed now.

Last time I had a secret santa gift it was a mirror that wolf whistled....it was crap, it went in the bin. Now, that would have been a much more welcome gift....and with chocs too?! I think I'd have come over all emotional!!!
But when you get the wolf whistling mirror - don't be too upset! ;)

Really great Secret Santa present and if you know it's her taste then it's ideal because it's also unique.

I'd be over the moon with such a great gift! My last Secret Santa gift was...oh, right! It was a no-show; the person who had my name didn't produce (should I take that personally?)

ps: very intriguied by the wolf-whistle mirror...
