Something for the weekend

It has not escaped my notice that my post yesterday was a little on the wordy side - sorry about that. I do have a tendency to bang on a bit sometimes. In a small attempt to redress the balance, today's post is going to be blissfully brief, and hopefully a bit more visually stimulating.

To that end, and in the spirit of a little Friday silliness, I hope you will enjoy the following:

I don't think this one is the best 'Monkey and Al' advert, but I'm posting it because it was on TV last night - I haven't seen it for several months, so I nearly hyperventilated with excitement when it came on! (Pitifully, I'm not exaggerating here. Ask NBM.)

That pair never fail to make me giggle, so I thought I would include them here in the hope that they'll make you smile too. I also really hope it's legal to have included it (anyone know?). And apologies for the inadvertant advertising. Just so's you know, I don't work for the tea company concerned - it's all about the monkey for me. Although I do love a nice cuppa.

A winning combination

Happy start-of-the-weekend to everyone - and if you have a spare minute, why not use it to time yourself knitting and then leave a comment about it here? You could win a prize, you know. Many thanks to the folks who have already taken part - watch this space for details of the fabled prize...

ok, that's ADORABLE, but still i have to ask: what are the advertisers thinking?! certainly i don't expect everything on tv to be 100% realistic, but this time--sheesh!--they have gone TOO FAR! i mean, a talking knitted monkey, sure, FINE; but do they SERIOUSLY expect us to believe johnny vegas drinks **TEA**??!

Brilliant. Just brilliant. Although my favourite is the one where he's strapped to the front of the lorry. Classic.

And Wow! My monkees sound JUST. LIKE. HIM! (Well, in my head they do anyway :) )

Please may you teach me how to do that embedding thing from youtube? I can only ever post a link (yeah sure I've tried the copying and pasting but it never seems to work out)

Anyhoo. More wine is beckoning .... but maybe I'll just watch that clip one more time .....

Oooh, thanks for the advert - I wouldn't have otherwise known about it. Very cute - I must root around the Internet for the other ones. Are there lots? It reminds me of all the advertisements Nick Park used to do with his claymation animals - I would stop dead in my tracks to watch those. Ummm, timed knitting. I'd be too embarrassed to tell you. I have a feeling I'm very slow...

Hey VC! Have just been talking to my Mum all the way over in 'Stralia and she was appalled that I only got 29 stitches. All my excuses were greeted as "Pathetic."

But it was really hard (whiny voice, screwed up face). Plus my hands were on a go slow, perhaps they work for the Post Office?

So she has decided to take up the challenge too. Will try to get her results in before close of play.
