Why don't I think these things through?

If you're expecting KSSP graphs today, then I have good news and bad news. The bad news is that I have lost them, so you are going to have to wait until tomorrow or perhaps Monday for me to either find them or make them again. The good news is actually the same news, re-told from the point of view of someone who didn't want to see the graphs anyway.

Instead, today's post is a cautionary tale, subtitled "VC is getting in a bit of a panicky flap but it's entirely her own fault so really she can't complain".

Anyone remember the shiny, shiny thing? And how much of a magpie I am? Well, news just in: I'm an idiot as well.

I think running that half-marathon addled my brain, because shortly after completing it, I decided that all the work I put into the training would be more worthwhile if I ended up with two shiny things to show for it. So I entered the Cardiff half-marathon.

It seemed like a good idea six weeks ago - but now, I'm just not sure. My knees ache just thinking about it.

It takes place tomorrow. I'm a bit scared.

I'm off to go and breathe slowly into a paper bag...

Oh yes. I was nearly forgetting ... good luck. I'll think of you as I'm sat on my fat lazy behind at Coffee 1 :)

And I shan't forget about those graphs .....

Hope the run goes really well.

If you don't make it back then I'm happy to take on care of the monkey, so don't be worried about that.

ooooooh you've started a *collection* of shiny, shiny things--that is very impressive!

i like the idea of a HALF-marathon, it sounds so much more friendly and approachable! if i were taking part... (let's just pause here and enjoy a hearty laugh at THAT idea, shall we?) ...i think i would run the *second* half...since it is the one closer to the END of the marathon! of course, it's also the most difficult, isn't it? ok, better idea: i would run the first (easiest?) quarter...and *then* the LAST (closest to the end) quarter...et VOILA!...one half marathon!

now where do i pick up my shiny, shiny thing?

ps: i am VERY excited about the forthcoming graphs! (oooh and would it be possible to see pie charts, as well?!!)

if there's a choice, i think it'd be nice to see the slower speeds depicted in bright, pretty colors like cerise, whilst the fast knitters (...some might call them "show-offs"...) were represented by a dull puce or perhaps one of the muddier shades of grey...
